Google Panda Update: Is Article Marketing Dead?
Post Google Panda update, many doomsday revelators said that article marketing was dead. While it is true that Google Panda hit article farm sites; that article marketing is less effective in achieving page rank and high traffic is a claim that is yet proven.
We do use article marketing as part of our backlinking strategy. To do this, we partner with a distribution service, the Unique Article Wizard. Post Panda, our partners from UAW posted case studies on their blog about third party individuals who tested article distribution through the UAW. And the results were evident.
The websites used as case study were both newly indexed. By just using quality articles which were properly keyword rich and not spammy, the new sites managed to stay on position 6, page 1 on Google, with just 3-6 articles being marketed each week over a period of 6 weeks.
Google Panda Update: Effect On SEO Articles
Amidst Google Panda, the magic of quality content and just the right number of articles distributed over strategic time periods remained potent. With article distribution, too much too soon may signal alarm for Google. On the contrary, the right number of posts distributed at the right time, and with each post containing just the right number of keywords, receive favor from Google. The Panda hit with its furry paw those sites with poor quality backlinks–those generated via directory submission, link exchange, and by buying links. On the contrary, sites which have backlinks generated from quality content were evidently Panda-proof.
Google Panda Update: Article Marketing Here To Stay
There is nothing wrong with article marketing as a method to generate links and traffic to your site. But without quality content and the right timing of article distribution, then this method will fail. If you are doing article marketing on your own, better check for your distribution service’s close awareness of how Google thinks. This will keep your position in Google stable, no matter what algorithm hits you in the future.
